Theme and 8 variations based on the theme from Beethoven's 9th Symphony (Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee).
A general purpose piece - audiences know the melody - but the variations are interesting and enjoyable for both band and listeners. The variations can be played as separate movements or played ina different order to that suggested.
